JULIA JANUS "Fashion and Food" in "Delicious Book Design": "Fashion & Food is an interdisciplinary collaboration that connects the New Northern or Baltic gastronomy with fashion through visual dialogues. Three innovative restaurants and their chefs are involved with the book: Uoksas restaurant (Kaunas, Lithuania; chef Artūras Naidenko); Tres Pavars (Riga, Latvia; chefs Martins Sirmaisir and Eriks Dreibants); and Biblioteka No 1 (Riga; chef Maris Jansons). The book explores the relationship between fashion (as a sociocultural phenomenon) and gastronomical identity in Baltic countries. Publisher Julia Janus uses the latest technology to explore these themes. Chefs involved in the project had the challenging task of providing recipes that matched the intensive magnetism of the clothing photographed for the book. Their dishes also had to be cooked with seasonal products from the Baltic region. This book is slowly becoming a chronicle of fashion and food among modern northern European cultures."
